Brig O'Johnston Bridge at Clarence Town is closed from Tuesday 1 August from 6am and 6pm on weekdays and weekends, while emergency work is carried out to repair damage to the bridge by a heavy vehicle. A detour for all vehicles will be in place until late August.Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

New access conditions on the bridge are in place for heavy vehicles. This bridge is restricted to vehicles with a maximum mass of 22.5 tonnes and a maximum width of 2.8m. No articulated heavy vehicles are permitted to use the bridge.
