Traffic Incidents related to Hunter Street at Tudor Street, Newcastle West, NSW
Police are attending to manage traffic.
From 7am, Monday 6 November, sections of Watt Street from Scott St to Church St will be closed progressively as the installation of race barriers commences.
Each block will be closed for approx 2 days at a time and will be reopened each evening. Closures will only be in place for the duration of the installation.
Motorists should allow additional travel time through the area and follow the direction of traffic controllers on-site as local detours will be in place. Access will be maintained for businesses and residents.
Work hours on are weekdays 7am to 6pm and Saturday 7am to 5pm.
Changed traffic conditions will be in place in Newcastle CBD for a planned protest between 12.30pm and 1pm. The group will assemble at Auckland St then cross King St and assemble within Civic Park.
Auckland St will be closed between Hunter St and King St while the protest is underway.
Motorists who need to get between Hunter St and King St can use Darby St or Union St and those travelling eastbound or westbound on King St near Auckland
St can use Hunter St.
Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time and avoid roads around Civic Park during this time.
