Traffic Incidents related to Princes Hwy at Campbell St, St Peters, NSW
Until 6am Mon 14 Jan:
Traffic lights at the intersection of Sydney Park Rd, Euston Rd and Huntley St will be switched off and replaced with alternating (stop/slow) traffic control during roadwork.
All eastbound lanes and one westbound lane will close on Sydney Park Rd. Two-way traffic will be maintained via alternating (stop/slow) conditions on the remaining westbound lane, under traffic control.
The left turn from Sydney Park Rd to Euston Rd and the right turn from Euston Rd to Sydney Park Rd will remain in place under traffic control.
Lane closures will also be in place on Euston Rd and Huntley St. Follow detour signs.
Travellers heading off on holiday or to visit family or friends this summer are being urged to use public transport as Sydney Airport prepares for the busy holiday period. Large numbers of passengers are expected to fly in and out of Sydney during the school and summer holidays.
Traffic is expected to be heavy on roads in and around the airport with the busiest times between 6am and 11:30am every day at both the T1 International and T2 T3 Domestic terminals, and from 6pm to 10pm at the Domestic terminals.
The T8 Airport and South train line will cater for the increased holiday demand, helping those heading off interstate and overseas as well those arriving into Sydney.
Travellers should strongly consider catching the train, and if they must drive are reminded to allow plenty of additional time and be aware of ongoing work to upgrade roads around the airport precinct, including along Joyce Dr.
A new intersection configuration is now in place:
-
Campbell St is one-way westbound only between Brown St and May St.
-
There is no access to Campbell St from Bedwin Rd, May St or Unwins Bridge Rd.
- Motorists should use May St or Unwins Bridge Rd as alternatives to
access the Princes Hwy.
This is a permanent change.
A new southbound lane will be open from Thur 13 Dec, providing 3 lanes on Joyce Dr / General Holmes Dr between O’Riordan St and Mill Pond Dr.
The southbound acceleration lane on Joyce Dr / General Holmes Dr will be removed. Vehicles turning left onto General Holmes Dr after the railway crossing will need to give way and merge into the general traffic lane when safe to do so.
