Due to the current fire conditions the Princes Hwy may close at any time today, Fri 10 Jan. 

Motorists are advised to delay travel to the South Coast area today and this weekend due to the bushfires. Weather conditions are forecast to worsen this afternoon, and major roads may close at short notice including sections of the Princes Hwy.

Motorists can use the Bewong Rest Area as it is accessible to vehicles travelling in both directions.

Bewong Rest Area northbound is located 26km south of Nowra.

Motorists are advised that there is no access to the Princes Hwy southbound from Sussex Inlet Rd.

The Princes Hwy has reopened in both directions following earlier bush fires and back burning. 

Due to the current fire conditions the Princes Hwy is expected to close today at any time.

Motorists are encouraged to delay all non-essential travel due to the current catastrophic bushfire conditions.
