Emergency road works
The road is open to all vehicles under alternating (stop/slow) traffic conditions.

Vehicles more than 4m wide travelling on Alpine Way between Khancoban and Thredbo will be redirected to the Snowy Mountains Highway via Tumut, Tumbarumba and on to Khancoban. This detour is expected to add up to three and a half hours to the journey.

Motorists can also use Elliot Way via Tooma and Kiandra but should exercise caution on these narrow, winding mountain roads which are not suitable for caravans or large vehicles.
