Upcoming Bulga Bridge Closure need to be mindful as the Putty has had some recent fires and my effect response times.The first closure will be in place from 6am on Monday 25 September to 5pm on Friday 29 September. During this closure we will be working between 6am and 5pm each day. The bridge will reopen for the October long weekend. The second closure will be in place from 6am on Tuesday 3 October to 5pm on Sunday 8 October. During this closure we will be working between 6am and 5pm each day. Following the closures, maintenance work will continue to be carried out on Bulga Bridge until the second half of 2024, weather permitting. Our standard work hours are between 6am and 5pm on weekdays. On occasion work may be carried out between 8am and 1pm on Saturdays.

CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS - Load limit
Load restrictions are in place on Bulga Bridge on the Putty Road at Bulga as essential maintenance work continues to be carried out. The bridge is restricted to light vehicles up to 4.5 tonnes.The bridge was impacted by floods last year and work is ongoing to repair the timber structure.A detour for heavy vehicles and vehicles towing trailers or horse floats will be in place via Broke Road for motorists traveling from north-east and Milbrodale Road for motorists traveling from the south west.The detour is expected to add around 30 minutes to motorists’ journeys. The bridge will remain open for school buses under a special permit.Work is continuing to be carried out between 6am and 5pm on weekdays while some Saturday shifts will also be required between 8am and 1pm. We expect to remove the load restriction on the bridge in early July 2023 on completion of the initial repairs.
